A Little Bizarreness

Alright, so I haven't been keeping up... but nobody else has either! Actually, I've really been waiting for some pics, but they're not going to come.

As some of you may remember, I had an Iguana at home who...well, let's just say she had some issues. Well, Khisanth the Iguana sadly died. She never really domesticated and she was a hazard in my home, especially with the prospect of having a baby. Don't get me wrong, I didn't kill her. I actually did what I could to keep her alive, but she finally went to be with the great dragons in... Valhalla. Yes, I said "Valhalla."

In order to keep the spirit of Khisanth from haunting me, it became necessary to bury her with honors. However, this was during the extreme cold snap when everything was frozen, especially the ground. How did we handle this problem? Well, why not have a Viking funeral? I built a pretty boat/box; waxed the bottom so it wouldn't get too waterlogged; and took a lighter and some fuel. Krista, Ramzy (a student), and Zatara were the funeral procession as we walked all the way down to the beach in front of my parents house... None of our cars were working. It was a long walk, but perfectly worth it. We poured the lighter fluid, said some words of departure, and set it aflame. It was beautiful. I can't believe that it worked. The boat did sail back in a couple of times, but we pushed it back out to sea. We stayed until it burned all the way down and then made the long trek back home. Krista said it was the coolest thing she had ever down. It was glorious.

Khisanth: Rest in peace, my Viking Dragon.
