Pickrell Pirates

Well everone ELSE was doing it, so I guess we ought to as well! Actually I was checking out Becky's blog and saw how many others were keeping in touch with their blogs. What a wonderful idea! So anyway,... I'm going to bore you with my news too! Whoo hoo!

Now is the time to adjust to yet another new normal. We have forgotten what sleeping through the entire night is like.

Isis the painter

The other night I was painting the bathroom (approx. 2:00 AM... I just kind of get going) and my cat Isis decided to come see what I was up to. She's still getting used to having a new house, and I think she misses the company of her 15 lb. compadre' Sammy. Since Mama was at the other end of the house, she decided to come check things out. She got so excited, that she decided to even help me paint... with her face.

She looks good in Linda Loma green, doesn't she? She's cleaned herself up for the most part, but there's still traces of it in her ear. I'm so lucky to have such a good helper.

Home Owners

Finally! I've been having some difficulty getting onto this site to update our blog, let's see if I can get it to work now.
As many of you know, Rick and I have transitioned over to the realm of home owners! Yes! It really is a great feeling. We bought Veta Mutart's place and are loving it. It was a very quick process, seeing as how Veta needed to get down to Kansas very quickly because of her son's impending deployment back to Iraq. We already miss her very much and continue to lift her up in our prayers.
Already we've been making renovations to the place. It feels like it's been years, but it's really only been a matter of 3 weeks. All the painting and most of the carpeting have been done in the two weeks that I've had for Christmas Break. It's been rather exhausting, but very rewarding. Here's before and after pictures of the office. I'm really glad at how it turned out.
There's tons more to show, but I don't know how to use this blog well enough to show you everything, so people are just going to have to come over! (Guess I'll have to working on getting my house clean, huh?)
