Pickrell Pirates

Well everone ELSE was doing it, so I guess we ought to as well! Actually I was checking out Becky's blog and saw how many others were keeping in touch with their blogs. What a wonderful idea! So anyway,... I'm going to bore you with my news too! Whoo hoo!

Now is the time to adjust to yet another new normal. We have forgotten what sleeping through the entire night is like.

Plans for the future

Here's what Mrs. Tiffany has planned for the next year. However, we'll see how that goes, seeing as how God usually has other plans for us. His plans are always the best way to go, but here's my guidelines so far.
We're going to build a beautiful Azalea courtyard out on the side of our house. I've already drawn up an outline of what it's going to look like. Now the trick is putting it into action. Winter's approaching very quickly and there isn't going to be very much that we can do now. I have the very unrealistic goal of getting this courtyard built within a year. That's just because in a year Rick and I can start trying for kids again. Right now, we're getting things plotted out.
For those in the Seattle area, we'll most likely be hitting you up for ideas on where we can get flagstone, building supplies, and eventually really gorgeous azaleas. We'll be in touch *wink*.

Things are going okay here for the time being. I'm back to teaching at school. It keeps me busy and some days are better than others. Rick applied for the ramp agent job at Alaska Airlines and once he passes training, he'll be officially hired. I'm very proud of him. The pain of missing Azalea is getting easier to deal with as time goes on. I'm finding that I can only function normally when I'm treated normally. It's been a bit tough going to church and immediately having five different people come up and give you sympathetic hugs. I know they mean well, but it's just a painful reminder of why they're giving me that hug. As people start focusing on it less, it gets easier to deal with. It's not like I'm ever going to forget what happened. I'm extremely thankful for people like the new teacher, Krista, whom I see on a regular basis and treats me the same as before the labor. It just helps remind me that I'm still the same person I was before, I just feel like I've aged a hundred years.
Anyway, we still appreciate prayers and love from our spiritual family. We love you all.
